Hello Followers,

I am writing you to say that I am retiring from this blog thing.

There are ten years of posts that should keep you busy.

Please, if you do make and sell any of my patterns I would like a mention for 1 inch minis.

I will not be answering any questions or collecting anymore pictures for the Gallery.

Thank You to the over 2000 people that have followed me over the years.  It was truly you that kept this blog going, that's the truth.

Sincerely,
Kris

  5. Thank you so much for all your tutorials. I still have so many to try. You are so talented and giving - have a wonderful retirement! Meanwhile, on a mini chat, everyone panicked when they heard you were retiring and starting buying your kits on HBS Miniatures. So if you hear from HBS that there has been a run on your kits, that may have been those chat members. :)

  6. Kris,
Your tutorials and techniques have inspired and instructed me so many times over the years! I am always delighted by your ingenuity and ability to create amazing things from every day craft supplies. Your monthly tutorials were so much fun to read and imagine doing, and the gift you leave behind in your incredible body of work will continue to encourage countless miniaturists to imagine and try. You are a treasure, an incredibly generous person, and I wish you all the best in the future!

  14. OH NO!!! And I just came back! To honor you and your blog I am going to attempt to make one item a week using one of your tutorials starting at the top and work myself all the way to the bottom and give the items away to my followers once a month. Ten years worth is worth the effort and I applaud you for making that effort to blog all those years. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent and inspiration with us. You will be missed.

  15. OOOPS! I spoke too soon, but I had good intentions. When I started with the first item at the top of the tutorial list I couldn't find the dimensions. Went to next 3 tutorials and couldn't follow so I slowed down and plan to pick out the ones from list that are at my beginners level. Thank you again...

  20. Ooohh no! I will miss the blog but you really have given me more tutorials than I could ever hope to accomplish. The tutorials are fantastic and so are your sofa and chair kits. I've done the Lisa sofa kit and it was delightful! I wish you every success with the kits and anything else you decide to apply your artful hands and creative mind to. Thank you for generously sharing all your knowledge over the years.

  22. You certainly do deserve a break, Kris. You should be retiring from your blog confident in the extreme contribution you have made to the mini making community. Your posts have given me so much confidence to try things for myself and have enabled me to improve my skill set tremendously over the years I have followed you. 27. Hi Chris. Hopefully you are still peeking at the comments! Have you considered combining all your tutorials in a book and selling them either book or download PDF format? Looks like they are all ready pretty much written and setup (enough for us anyway). Since you are no longer making posts I keep thinking one day the site will just disappear before I had a chance to make all the wonderful items you have created. Please consider. Thanks.

  29. Dear Kris. I just looked up your blog because I realized that I haven't seen a post from you in a while. I'm so sad that you decided to retire, but I also think you've done a wonderful job and you deserve a break to pursue your own interests. Thank you ever so much for the wonderful ideas and techniques you've shared with us over the years!

  30. You are the one who taught me to make miniatures. From what tools to buy (the tilt table saw and Ryobi scroll saw are truly invaluable) to how to make pretty much everything from cardstock and wood glue. You're right...ten years of your tutorials will last the majority of us twenty years. But it still doesn't stop the hurting in our hearts to hear you say good-bye. Know you are loved and missed. Be blessed and take care. Thank you.

  31. I only found you last year & looked today to see how your project was travelling. Enjoy your retirement, I hope it is everything you want it to be & more. Know that your work was & is beautiful, inspiring & brings smiles to the faces of many. Even tonight, my 25yo son came in while I had your page open & commented on how cool it all was lol. Thank you for sharing your knowledge so freely & for so long. Best wishes. Joanne.

  37. Hello Kris. My name is Kristin Günther. I am working for the Edvard Much-museum here in Oslo. We are preparing a children's exhibit which will consist of 5 unique miniature sets. I found your beautiful work as part of research for a minature wicker chair needed for one of these sets. You have made very instructive tutorials, but I would like to know if it is possible to purchase or order a miniture wicker chair from you? I hope you still read the posts here, you are also most welcome to contact me on e-amail kgunther@online.no I hope to hear from you soon. Take care and stay healthy in these days of unrest. Yours sinverely Kristin Günther
